The almond tree has been planted in France since the 17th century. It is the first fruit tree which blossoms at the end of winter, in a season when night frost still occurs. Not long ago, the region "Ile de France" was a rural area with spacious fruit orchards. Today, ultra-modern urban development meets islands of greenery.
