Built in 1946 Lafayette Hotel and Suites has been the site of historical glamour and offers a unique change to a typical hotel experience. Among its famous guests were Bob Hope, Lana Turner, Ava Gardner and Betty Grable. Inside the Mississipi Ballroom took center stage where Hollywood’s whose came to dance the night away.
To this day, guests can take a dive in the Olympic-size pool designed by Johnny Weissmuller. The hotel offers two restaurants and a lounge. These include the L Bar and Grill and Poolside Terrace off the main lobby as well as the locally famous Red Fox restaurant with its 16th century Tudor artifacts and popular piano bar.
