We are a comfortable, newly furnished hotel in Bad Grund/Harz located on the tranquil southern hillside. It is about 5 walking minutes away from the Kurpark and 10 minutes from the town centre.
Hiking trails through the forest with attractive destinations like the Märchenwald, the Arboretum or the Iberger Tropfsteinhöhlen etc. are directly accessible at the house.
Furnishing
All of our rooms and holiday flats are equipped with a shower/WC, colour-cable-television, telephone and partly with a balcony. A dining area and a separate large lounge with a fireplace, a small library, coffee and board games are also available for a comfortable get together.

Restaurant
Our Restaurant is a cosy part of our hotel. Our breakfast buffet takes place from 8.00 - 9.30 am. Furthermore we offer half- board aboard (warm meal in the evening) at 6.00 pm. You can choose half- board each day individually.
Holiday Flat
In addition to our 20 rooms, we offer holiday flats, which are located in the hotel and outside of it. Holiday flats are self- catering apartments; however, breakfast and half- board can be booked additionally. The cleaning of the apartments will be calculated in the hotel and is an additional benefit. Please contact the hotel for questions.
Location Bad Grund
In a sheltered valley, far from noise and stress of cities but yet conveniently situated, you will find the only "Moorheilbad" of the western Harz mountains. Allow yourself a little rest and relaxation, wander through little alleys, admire the typical architecture of the Harz mountains with its old halftimbered houses, enjoy the exquisite food and drinks restaurants and cafès offer and recover completely.
Bad Grund and its sourroundings
People knowing the Harz mountains consider Bad Grund a little paradise. Surrounded by thick coniferous an bright broad-leaved forests, there are almost no limits set to your study tours on foot. But it does not only have to be hiking. Clear and clean lakes invite in summer to going swimming, also partly to fishing and in winter to ice-skating.
Furthermore, you can come and see some of our sights e.g. our "Arboretum" lovingly called exotic forest by the people living in Bad Grund, or maybe you would like to visit our clock museum which is one of the biggest in Europe. Possibly, the world of mining attracts you or you would like to show your children or grandchildren our fairytale valley. No matter what, in and around Bad Grund, there is a lot to see and to experience and you are always located in nature in one of the most beautiful places in the Harz mountains.

Your travel route to our hotel:
Arrival by Train
Guests from Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg can take convenient connections via Hannover to Kreiensen, Seesen or Goslar. We recommend guests from Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt to take the train via Wernigerode to Goslar or via Halle/Saale to Herzberg/Harz. If you come from the south, travel via Kassel and Göttingen to Seesen. There are also good connections from Rhineland/ Ruhr and Westphalia.
Bus Lines
Between Berlin & Seesen and Berlin & Clausthal - Zellerfeld exsists a regular service by the Bayernexpress and P. Kühn Berlin GmbH. Guests from around Wilhelmshaven, Oldenburg, Delmenhorst and Bremen can travel by the bus company Fass - Reisen and reach Bad Grund directly.
Arrival by Car
Guests from the north or south take the highway A7 via Hannover - Kassel till the exit Seesen. Then take the federal road B243 (freeway towards Osterode) till the exit Clausthal - Zellerfeld/Bad Grund.
Guests from the east travel via Hasselfelde, Braunlage, Clausthal - Zellerfeld on the federal road B242 (Harzhochstrasse) till the exit Bad Grund.
Guests from the west, at first take the highway A44 Dortmund - Kassel. Then take the highway A7 Kassel - Hannover till the exit Seesen. Afterwards take the federal road B243 (freeway towards Osterode) till the exit Clausthal - Zellerfeld/Bad Grund.
