Fayrer Garden House Hotel

Built in 1904, this beautiful Lakeland Country House was a former Edwardian gentlemen’s residence set in five acres of secluded gardens and grounds.  Today Fayrer Garden offers all the style and elegance you would expect from a three-star country house hotel.  The welcoming ambience is evident from the moment you step over the threshold – the atmosphere is most definitely relaxed. 

With unrivalled views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding countryside, the Terrace Restaurant has a well established reputation for fine food.  A 5 course table d'hote evening meal is served every day by our skilled kitchen team.  The menu changes daily to reflect both the season and the best ingredients the region has to offer. 

Stylish lounges offer views across the terrace and the Lake beyond where morning coffee or afternoon tea can be enjoyed.  The cosy bar invites you to sit and relax with an aperitif or indeed a night-cap allowing you to sample one of our many single malts or local bottled real ales.  The colourful gardens with their eye-catching borders have received awards over the years.  The spacious terrace is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. 

All the bedrooms have views – either over Lake Windermere or of the attractive gardens.  The bedrooms are all individually designed to the highest of standards – no two are the same!  Ground floor garden and lake view rooms have patio doors to allow direct access onto the terrace whilst most of the first floor Lake View rooms enjoy the added luxury of a whirlpool bath.  Pets are welcome in 4 cottage bedrooms.  One of our ground floor garden bedrooms is suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

A stunning spa and leisure club at a neighbouring hotel is available for guests to use free of charge and Windermere Golf Club is only a mile up the road. The nearby village of Bowness with all its shops, attractions and boats is a brisk 15 minute walk.
