With so much to offer visitors, even those traveling on business should be sure to set aside plenty of sight-seeing time while in New Orleans. In addition to the famous “French Quarter”, renowned for gourmet food and jazz, New Orleans is a great place to take in nature. Found at several places around town are the wonderful attractions of the Audubon Nature Institute. Two attractions well worth the time are the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Zoo. Several companies operate boat tours through the famed Louisiana swampland; float your way along meandering waters and just take in the sights or cast a fishing line into the bayou and hook your supper. Visitors can also take a personal narrated tour in Honey Island Swamp, one of the least altered river swamps in the country, boasting nearly 70,000 acres of permanently protected swampland.
