Country house sophistication on a family-run wine estate. Schwarzer Adler Estate Hotel lies in the heart of the Kaiserstuhl region. There are currently 2200 varieties of wine in the hotel cellars to accompany the French and regional cuisine in the two restaurants, one with a Michelin-star which it has consistently retained since 1969.
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with a strong emphasis on good food and wine. The rooms and suites are traditionally furnished, some with delightful views over surrounding vineyards. Dining in the world-renowned Schwarzer Adler restaurant is a must. For simpler, regional cuisine, try Winzerhaus Rebstock, complete with ancient terracotta tiles and wooden tables.
Relax in the rose garden which acts as a sun-trap and provides a distinctly Mediterranean feel. Arrange a visit to the estate s wine cellar, stretching 110 metres into the mountain and taste fully fermented wines, matured in wooden casks.
