Olive, cypress and magnolia trees; the laurel praised by the poet and the myrtle: the sweet fragrance of the Garda Lake, the Mediterranean splendor, the marvellous landscape appreciated by Lawrence and Goethe. Here, on the banks of the lake, was created the villa at the end of the 19th century, in an enchanting corner, a perfect and rare witness of the rafined taste of the Belle-Epoque and of the well-mannered atmosphere created and lived by refined tourist coming from all over the Alps. During the 'swinging thirties' the villa became 'Pensione Val di Sogno' taking its name after Malcesine's famous locality, exploiting the marvellous landscape, the luxurious vegetation and the clear waters. With time passing by the building underwent intelligent transformations here and there slowly becoming what it is today, the 'Bellevue San Lorenzo' hotel. The atmosphere, the quietness, the fragrances, the charming elegance of this terrace overlooking the lake have remained untouched; the rooms viewing the emerald waters, the beach and the sailing sports; the artful beauty of its inside and outside; modern sculptors in the munificent park grazing the waves. The refined and yet modern management renews its welcome, the Venetian touch of the Bizantine threefold windows, the delightful hammered iron of its windows, the frescoes, like the Saint after whom the hotel has been called. And the view, the landscape and the climate; the myths of the site and the very particular light make it a sweet summer refuge, during the unique and tender seasons of the Garda Lake. The Hotel Bellevue San Lorenzo consists of 3 villas surrounded by the Mignola-park with works of art of famous Italian and international sculptors. In the 19th century liberty villa you find the suite 'San Lorenzo' with its two balconies and the unique lake view, hall, restaurant, breakfast-terrace, bar and reading room with internet point. In the red villa there is a conference or exhibition room and the welness centre with sauna, turkish steam bath, solarium, Jacuzzi, tropical shower and fitness room. Facilities include swimming pool with panoramic sun terrace, lift, parking-place and central heating. The Garda lake and the mountain. If you love activity holidays here you will find many opportunities: sailing, water-skiing, tennis, miniature golf, windsurfing, paragliding and mountain bike tracks, ... The climate is always mild and, especially in out of season periods, you can have wanderful walks up the hills or the slopes of mountains, through olive groves and typical mediterranean vegetation. A cable-way connects Malcesine to Monte Baldo with a 15 min 'flight'; Monte Baldo is famous as the 'Botanical Gardens of Italy' and in winter, covered with snow, offers splendid and panoramic skiing trails. |
