The "Rhein-Hotel Restaurant Merkelbach" is a comfortable middle class hotel directly situated at the river Rhine. Since 1724 in family property we maintain a long tradition of hospitality in our house.
We are in direct proximity to the city centre of Koblenz (1, 8 km) with its shopping facilites and the old town. In our house you can escape the hustle and bustle and the noise of the city. The "Rheinhotel Merkelbach" is located on the right bank of the Rhine in the quarter Koblenz-Pfaffendorf, opposite to the city centre of Koblenz.
Our 14 guest rooms and one apartment were renovated in the middle of 2004 and are modernly and friendly furnished with shower/toilet, telephone and TV. There are also rooms with large balcony to the Rhine.
We are the right place if you are planning a bicycle tour: We keep your bikes in safe and dry custody. In summer our "Biker Meeting", directly situated at the bank of the Rhine, invites to cool drinks and snacks. Our house is ideal for hikers: We are directly located at the hiking trail "Rheinsteig" that follows the Rhine for 320 km.
Our restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Let yourself be spoiled by our excellent cuisine and enjoy regional and international specialties in a neat ambiance.
From your guestroom or our restaurant you can observe and enjoy the ships on the Rhine: You will always discover something interesting on the Rhine, where the shipping traffic is very vivid. There is also a shipping pier at our house. From spring till autumn there are ships leaving for castle trips on Rhine and Moselle. Come and visit Koblenz, a city with over 2000 years of history, part of the UNESCO World Heritage "Upper Middle Rhine Valley".
We have very recently installed a wireless DSL network for internet access via your private laptop in the whole house (guest room + restaurant) For laptops which do not contain a WLAN-adapter we provide you a USB WLAN adapter free of charge. WLAN with high speed DSL internet access (54 Mbit/s). We charge for 24 hours online access: 5, - euro (no restriction of data set). All rooms provide access to all German mobile nets.
