The "Castri Hotel" came to be in two 19th century palaces in Florence, the capital of Italy at the time, which on one side overlook Piazza Indipendenza and Via Nazionale. The other side overlooks a garden, measuring more than 1000 m², with palm trees, 2 large magnolia trees and statues in terracotta and 19th century marble. The spacious reception desk is where guests are welcomed on their arrival, where they may ask information, make arrangements for a taxi, museums or tours of the city.
The establishment offers 70 spacious rooms with private bath, color tv, telephone and thermostat controls. Each room has its own special characteristics since, despite a recent renovation, the main building has maintened its original layout.
The ample buffet breakfast is complimentary for the hotel's welcome guests. The dining room offers 84 seats and opens onto the garden by way of three French doors, allowing one to enjoy breakfast outside when the weather is nice. Adjacent to the garden is a glass-enclosed veranda.
From the garden, a quaint path leads down to the Tavernetta. In this pleasantly decorated tavern, the hotel offers aperitifs or Chianti tasting to those groups who are guests for a few days.
