Torre dei Calzolari is a 12th century castle built by Federico Barbarossa recently restored to a comfortable hotel. It is beautifully located only 5 km from splendid Gubbio and is the ideal starting point to set out along the best known religious and naturalistic itineraries of green Umbria. The castle the residence of aristocratic families during the centuries has kept intact its charming atmosphere a plunge into the past welcomes visitors to start from the reception hall with its barrel vaulted ceiling typical of medieval masonry from Gubbio and it s imposing fireplace.
