Guest evaluation of The Cumberland a Guoman Hotel

|
guest rating: (2,7 of 10) |
| on business travelling as an individual, 41-50 years; travel season:May 2010 |
Due to the lack of non-smoking room, I was shown to a barrier-free room in the annex - which turned out to be quieter. Room was large and the bed was comfortable.
Very good location. Good gym facilities.
Large empty fridge in the room to put anything you like in from the outside shop, which was useful as well as coffee making facilities.

|
Check-in was friendly but very slow, took them 15 min. to check me in. Room looks very tired now - carpet / chair / furniture looks cheap and worn, considering the price, I would expect little more from the room.
Hot water was never very hot. |

Central location, good airco.

|
Dirty, seems very run down, noisy.
Door to shower cabin didn't close completely, this had been handled by turning the nozzle away from the door, which means that you'll be leaning against the wall to shower. Cleaning in the corners of the shower cabin would also be good.
When placing a mirror behind the sink in the bathroom, one should consider also cleaning underneath the sink. Lots of grime and rust.
Carpet in hallways are either at the end of their useful life or in serious need of cleaning. |

Very well positioned. Public transportations are very at hand.

|
It is too big to be personal and furthermore it is too big altogether, 1080 rooms ! |
