In all the hotels I've stayed this was the 2nd worst. It appears to be a leisure club that has a hotel as secondary business. The room (201) was v.small, with no hotel information provided, v. poor sound & heat insulation,cracked and dirty tiles in the bathroom, and the room door lock & handle practically hanging off. The changing rooms in the leisure club were dirty and the showers old and in need of an update. The bar staff were v.unhelpful which made me decide to eat outside the hotel. I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone.

My wife & I were very much looking forward to staying at the The Waterside Hotel & Galleon Leisure Club, Manchester. Sadly, we would not go there again. * Room 303 was a surprising let-down in many ways - The size of the room was very disappointing. * En-suite was not up to standard expected of such a status hotel/price. For example: - The clothes-hook on the door was not fixed properly. It rotates & then your clean clothes fall on the wet tiles! Then poor Health & Safety: - The tile-grouting was mouldy in many places! - When in the bath, you can see even more black mould on the grouting and joints under the sink! * There was only one chair in our 'double' room! * The TV in room 303 is fixed on the left-hand wall, at 90 degrees to the bed, so that you end-up with neck-ache trying to watch it! * The 'English Breakfast Food' was barely warm [such a shame because the setting was excellent]. All in all, we came to The Waterside in order to experience a better quality of B&B ... next time we will be running back to The Premier Inn where we can get great quality for a B&B stop-over at a fraction of the price!

Probably the best leisure facilities to be found that are included in a hotel room price. The staff are freindly and profesional and 'tho on the small side the rooms are welcoming and functional. Excellent for any hotel the aircon was on when we arrived but a sudden down pour and cold snap and the hotel was immediately warm.

Only due to hotel size the hotel msy struggle to get 3*AA but is well worth its 3* RAC. Probably the best kept secret for an excellent priced hotel close to Manchester and Old Trafford- Sshhhhhhhhhh, dont tell anyone!
