Location superb! Large, very comfortable room and bed. Breakfast equally superb but at a stiff price and AN EXTRA. This very unusual in Germany and was a bit of a shock. Staff excellent, helpful andd friendly

Staff added to the experience; we were greeted warmly, and that set the tone. We found the room nicely appointed, quite comfortable and equipped with all the things one typically forgets at home. They were especially great when we had a last minute shoe emergency just before the ballet.

| Competence & attitude of personnel leaves much to be desired.
At dinner the waitresses were visibly tired/bored and unsmiling.
The front desk personnel was not helpful in providing information on key attractions in the city.
On one occasion they switched to deal with the next customer before finishing with us without any excuse etc. When I reprimanded them for this, the receptionist would talk back and made some strange comments like why don't I myself look up the information re train itinerary which I was asking. This is not my idea of hospitality.
I would not want to stay at this hotel whilst in Dresden again for these reasons. By the way I like this hotel chain and this was an unpleasant surprise. |
