Hotel description Staunton Hotel

As a beautiful Georgian Town House, the Staunton Hotel boasts an atmosphere more reminiscent of a welcoming club. The luxurious décor and warm atmosphere provide a haven of tranquillity and a 'home from home' in historic Bloomsbury.

All our 17 luxurious bedrooms are tastefully decorated with pastel fabrics, mingled with a fine blend of Cherry-wood furnishings. Beds are of the highest quality. All rooms are en-suite, the bathrooms finished in marble, with invigorating power showers. Although catering for bed and breakfast only, the quality of this hotel far exceeds the standard for a B&B or guest house hotel.

Situated in the heart of London's West End, the hotel is only a few minutes walk from Oxford Street, with Soho, Covent Garden and Theatreland a short stroll. The British Museum and University of London are adjacent and the City's financial centre is just a short taxi or tube ride from your London home.

As a brand new introduction, we are pleased to announce the opening of our coffee/meeting lounge. Conveniently located in Bloomsbury’s Gower Street, it offers an excellent opportunity to local businesses and residents requiring an informal and appealing set up for 10–12 people. The room has been tastefully decorated and offers a Colonial Stylish feel.

August 2008
+ Very clean and well-sized rooms. + Laaaaaaaaaarge, comfortable double bed. + Good situation, less than 10 walking minutes to Tottenham Court Road Station (underground) as well as to Oxford Street and Soho (shopping and theaters). + Very friendly and helpful staff, always available for any kind of questions. + Good breakfast, either English (the orders were often mixed up by the staff, though) or cereals, yoghurt and fruit (buffet). No eatable bread, just toast (but I heard this is normal in the UK). Rather small breakfast room. + FREE safe and WLAN. + Gay friendly.

- Quite expensive at GBP 129.25 a night (taxes as well as breakfast, WLAN and safe included). - Sometimes a wee bit noisy despite the double-glazed windows. (- No elevator, for those who are depending on one.)
