Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel

The room is tired and old, including a rusting bath, old style tv, in all very 1970's looking wood panels and flowery carpet. I paid for an Executive Room - which was less equiped and smaaller than I typically experience at far cheaper hotels.

rooms were a little bit shabby and run down, although there were clean. For a hotel in this category I would ecpect free shuttle service to to airport (like in other countries) and not one bus/hour for 4 Punds one way.

Minor issues - older tube TV in room, no mini bar.

Room could be a long walk, as this is a very flat property ...Although great after a good Indian dinner among 14000+ indian restaurants.

While I ha d avalid reservation when I arrived my room was not there and i was standing until 2am to wait for a new room. The staff was very unfriendly and not providing any information about what went wrogn and why. Unacceptable service.

Food was poor. For the room rate, a better breakfast with some variety was expected. Would be good if some of the staff spoke English as a first language.

Small and shabby rooms, slow elevators - no staircase available. Hotel needs a reconstruction.

Television (4:3 format) quite old; in bathroom, one of the furnishings had apparently come loose and had been sporadically fixed, didn't look very solid.

Room - there was a strange noise during the night whcih woke me up several time - like a small lift / charger, for about 20 seconds, then stopped again. Construction of Hotel: to wide, a taller building would have been better/ more comfortable. Especially annoying is that there is only 1 ppint with lifts: my room was about above the bar but I had to walk first to the lift and then all the way back in the aile of the floor. Reception desk - friendly staff, but the booking system seems to be akwardly complicated - there were only a few people queing but it took a long time to obtain the key Bar - there was England playing, but the way the big screen is set, only about 6 to 10 people can wathc it while sitting in comfortable chairs, the rest is in one line at the bar and one cannot join the audience without standing in front of another person. Cab - we asked the concierge to book a cab for us, which he did. The cabbie charged £15 (the hotel web page says it costs about £10, the fare from teh airport to the hotel was about £9); so I said this is overcharging (no taxmeter in the car) but paid (no tip obviously added) and the cabbie tried to cheat whith the exchange money. This was between 4 and 5 pm on 18 November - of course, this is not the receptionists fault, but I consider the Mariott should ensure that they call trustworthy cabbies.

Food in the hotel is expensive. The hotel is in need of modernisation - generally getting "rough" around the edges.

Had a room next to the entrance to the Executive Lounge (3rd floor). Every time someone left/entered the lounge the door slam was disturbing. Not enough staff wt the receptioin desk - long wating time. Have to pay EXTRA 15 pounds for 24h internet access!!!

Would suggest the speed bumps outside the hotel entrance is long due for a new coat of paint, the current one on it has fainted away so much, even approaching it at 20mph it's hard to see it until it's too late, you end up going over it with quite a bump.

Room: very small; no mini bar; old TV with poor picure quality, no paid movies; old bathtub, not very fresh.

My car had a smashed window during my stay and my was not the only car apparantly 4 different cars were were also affected. Nothing was stolen as there was nothing to steal.

In some areas there was dust in the room, the aircondition is noisy

Food is expensive in the hotel and VAT is not included in the rates quoted Parking spaces are very small. You can get the car in but then it is sometimes difficult getting out of the car!
