The comfortable Petro Palace Hotel was opened in 2005. The hotel is located in the historical centre of Saint Petersburg on Malaya Morskaya Street within several minutes walk from the main avenue - Nevsky Prospect and the city's main places of interest.
The wide rooms, suites and the apartment are between 16 and 35 m². very good location. After the redecoration of the lobby, became less cosy from my view. Rooms are the same - standard quality, although some noise from staff was overhead in the room. Good breakfast. Too many foreign tourists including groups during high season.

The hotel is placed in the very centre of St. Pete, very comfortable for tourists. Taking in consideration the place prices are well reasoned. Service and personnel meet expectations, quite good fitness-centre, really helps to relax after a hard day. Standard rooms are large, probably a bit stark.
Abscence of bath in standard rooms is a minus. While checking in had troubles with reservation made via site, but a call to reservation centre helped. One would prefer to have breakfast in the city, not in the hotel - much cheaper and more interesting.

Does the job - barely.
Really poor soundproofing. The television in the room next door sounded like it was up way to loud but when I complained to reception, I heard them call the room and could clearly here the guy in the next room say hello.
This is the worst soundproofing I have ever experienced in a hotel!

Excellent location. Reasonable rooms.
Very high price for using internet in the room (5 EUR per hour - double than the room rate if you want to stay online!). Extra fee for "foreigners" - probably related to registration - but not specified.

My "exactly as described" rating is an indication of total satisfaction with this hotel. My wife and I spent a most enjoyable 7 nights there and the staff were pleasant, courteous and efficient at all time. I consider it to have been excellent value for money. The location is ideal for tourism with major sights only a few minutes' walk away. All the staff we encountered spoke English and, to a lesser extent, German.

We have first contacted the hotel directly, but was told there was no vacancies. But by way of "Hotel.de" we could book without any hinderance. Many thanks to "Hotel.de"!!
Sometimes the Hotel's quality of services at the reception is not very careful or prompt, but only so according to the European standard. According to the Russian standard, their quality should be said "excellent".

Announced Internet connection worked on my company computer through WiFi at the reception desk only. Access to company intranet was not possible at all. The cause was that hotel LAN system was not able to respect (was not compatible with) security system and set-up on my computer.
