Hotel description Pavilion Hotel

Check-in: from 02:00 p.m. / Check-out: until noon Guests who arrive prior to 02:00 p.m. may deposit their luggage at the reception.

Pavilion Hotel is situated in a convenient Central London location, within walking distance of Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Paddington Station, Oxford Street (London’s main shopping street), Madame Tussauds (famous waxworks museum) and the Edgeware Road (full of restaurants and cafes).

All the 29 rooms have been designed to project a funky and glamorous image. Many are themed and have names such as "Honky Tonk Afro" a tribute to the 1970's and "Casablanca Nights" a deco inspired Moorish fantasy. “Better Red Than Dead" is a voluptuous symphony of vermilion, claret and crimson and "Enter The Dragon" a mystical cocktail of oriental treasures. Other rooms have equally exotic names. All rooms have small en-suite bathrooms, satellite TV with DVD/CD and direct dial telephones.

The Pavilion Hotel is a small funky laid back townhouse hotel in central London ideal for artistically minded clientele. The hotel has become extremely popular with the fashion, music, TV and film industries. Supermodels, Oscar winning actors, famous musicians and TV stars have all visited the walls of the Pavilion. If you are looking for something different and glam, then the Pavilion is definitely for you.

The Hotel is extremely photogenic and has also become a popular location for photo/fashion shoots by photographers such as Mario Testino who shot at the Hotel for British Vogue. It's also regularly used for TV filming, music videos and celebrity interviews.

The staff were among the most friendly and welcoming I've encountered in London hotels and I've stayed in a lot. The decor of the hotel will not suit everybody but I liked it. It's the opposite of minimalist decor. It's very 'busy' and intensely ornate - like a cross between a William Morris show house, an antiques market and a film world fantasy setting. The rooms don't have numbers but instead have evocative names and themes - like Marilyn Monroe. Someone with an eclectic design eye has definitely not been afraid to make an effort. The singles I've seen and the double I stayed in are small but that's par for the course in London. Breakfast is adequate - cereal, juice and croissant etc left on a tray outside your door. Although it's small it's friendly, clean and made me smile - and not a lot of hotels in London do that. It's very close to Edgeware Road Tube Stations and bus stops. Lots of places to eat and late night shops etc.

I got a good deal using hotel.info, paying £56.00 per night which was okay value. I'd be reluctant to pay the rack rates which can be a lot higher.

This small, cramped room was made to feel even smaller by the overpowering decor. The shower head leaks more water out of the side than from the head - it's an easy, cheap fix that has not been attempted.

May 2012
Kinda funky atmosphere which I liked but marred by various things I mentioned in the Negative box.

1) hotel supplied a miniscule sliver of very cheap soap and no shampoo. 2) I asked not to be disturbed but the maid came in anyway. 3) bed very wobbly. 4) staff need to be friendlier and more helpful 5) "breakfast"(?) stale and hardly worth the effort. 6) shower pressure weak and took a long time to get warm. 7) toilet roll holder fell off wall. 8) very limited TV reception. 9) wifi reception very weak. 10) tiny cramped room.

The location is ideal walking distance to many sights, restaurants and underground station. Reasonably clean. Quiet room. Comfortable bed. Very good value.

Extremely small room and tiny bathroom. Poor breakfast. Bathroom hand held shower hose was leaking and needed to be replaced.

The rooms are very quirky if you like something a bit different. There was very little to no noise. It is very well priced for central London, and easily within walking distance of Hyde Park.

The shower room was very cramped. The cord for the kettle wouldn't stretch to any surface, so we had to boil it on the floor. Breakfast was very impersonal, just left on a tray outside the room.

after alot of persuasion they changed us to another room in the basement next to the supply room with a more comfortable bed and better lighting for the 2nd and final night.

No closet space, very tiny showers, rooms were in the basement,1st night we slept on a very inexpensive worn down coiled mattress in which was similar to a inexpensive sleeper sofa mattress. All hotels offer travelers shampoos, lotion, soap this one did not until we asked for them in both rooms. For the money there were other hotels in the area more comfortable and for less cost but we were unable to move because we were not able to be credited because as they puyt it we made a reservation over the Internet.

nothing positive to say

Very unfriendly staff and owner who threaten the guests. At the end I moved out because I was to scarred to stay overnight and called the police. Of course they didn't gave me my money back... Even though it is close to Marble Arch the area around the hotel is not very good. I woundn't recommend walking around here after sunset. Even though the hotel was cheap there are better hotels for less money available and since I moved out I ended up paying for 2 hotels...

A very interesting, quirky hotel. The themed decor was lovely and unusual.

The shower room was barely fit for purpose a "larger" person would not have been able to access the shower. The breakfast was fine apart from the stale croissants every morning in spite of our complaint.

£53 for a Saturday night within a 5 minute walk from Edgware Road is incredible. Add to this, the original and jaw dropping decor, the helpfulness of the staff and breakfast thrown in, I will not only visit again, but will be recommending to everyone who is going to the capital. Great, great hotel!
