The Tivoli Gardens is located directly in the city-centre, just a stone´s throw away from the main railway station and it is not only popular amongst children. You will find 23 fairground rides and several dining facilities on-site. The park is open between mid-April until the end of September and a Christmas market takes place during the winter season, during which time the fairground rides are also open.

Copenhagen as the European City of Culture

In 1996, Copenhagen was the European City of Culture. Several theatre buildings and museums can be found in his part of the city. The royal theatre has space for more than 1,500 spectators. It looks back at a history going back to the year 1748 which is when the establishment was founded. The building dates back to the year 1874. An additional building was opened in the year 2005 for the royal theatre. The modern opera buildings is situated on the Holmen Island.
