From the outside the modern, fair-faced concrete building is already an impressive sight thanks to its functional design. From the inside the hotel offers finest Austrian 3-star standards on each of its seven floors. All of the 131 rooms have modern furnishings kept in a clear-cut design. Each room includes air conditioning, a shower/toilet, a flat-screen TV, a telephone and a hair dryer, and various stylish elements radiate Viennese charm. Apart from practical space for storage, there also is a functional work area in each room. The hotel only offers modern, non-smoking rooms. The bar, the games room, the guest kitchen and the lobby have an open and straight-forward design and there is free WiFi access offered in all public areas.

The MEININGER Hotel Vienna Downtown Franz is located in Leopoldstadt, Vienna’s second district, between the Augarten Park and the Danube Canal. A relaxed walk through the small alleys down to the Danube soon takes you to the famous ring road round Vienna's Old Town. St. Stephen’s Cathedral and numerous other points of interest in the town centre are easily reached on foot. Schönbrunn and Belvedere Palace are not far, either, thanks to good public transport links. The underground station Schottenring is close to the hotel: from here you can catch the U2, the U4, trams 1, 2 and 31 and no fewer than 9 bus lines. And for those who don’t like to wander far off: take a stroll through lively Leopoldstadt, past uncountable restaurants, the Karmeliter Market with its varied stalls and past the Vienna Criminal Museum to the Ferris wheel in the Prater.
