The room was nice and clean facilities good food very nice wine price ott but its like that in all hotels that we stay , would of liked a better veiw but we only booked late.
we were in room 925 at the york marriot quite a trek from reception, The lift and corridor smelt of damp inside the room was fine, I reported the damp unpleasant smell to the reception staff 14/05/09 at approx 19.00hrs that eve it was said to be noted ,

The room appears to be very clean, up to date, and tastefully decorated.
The state of the art AC unit did not function at all and a swamp cooler was the only alternative offered which made the room too damp and barely affected the temperature at all. One of the teaspoons on the tray had not been replaced but was, in fact, left there after someone had licked it clean. Housekeeping neglected to notice or chose to acquire an item that was left in the room and refused to check the room for it as they 'have very specific rules about what the room can look like and would have noticed it had it been left.'

The hotel itself is nice and clean, and the staff was very helpful.
The only reason why I have a little difficulty recommending this hotel is that it is about 10-15 min walk into the city center. Also, our room, a double, didn't have a double bed. Instead, it had two single beds joined together to look like a double bed, as there was only one duvet.
