In Sternberg guests in the region will find a special stopping place for walkers and an open air swimming pool. Should you stay in Sternberg you will enjoy the magnificently preserved town fortifications whilst in the church of St. Mary and St. Nicolas there is a wonderfully carved altar and a Walker organ. The open air archeologocal museum shows the remains of a slavic settlement from the 10th Century and through the carefully reconstructed buildings and many relics the visitor receives an excellent impression of the life of the slavs in Mecklenburg. In Blankenberg there is one of the most beautiful hotels on the Great Starnberg Lake housed in the Hunting Castle of Friedrichswalde.
The Sternberg Lake District has almost 90 lakes and this makes ideal conditions for nature observation, fishing tours, walks, horse rides or boat tours to enrich your stay in the area. The main roads B104, Schwerin-Güstrow, or the B192, Wismar-Neubrandenburg make access easy.
