If you are staying in the area a popular visit is to the monastery in Dobbertin which is the only church with two towers in Mecklenburg. Güstrow is the county town and has a magnificent castle in which the visitor will find art treasures and furnishings from the 16th and 17th Centuries. It is interesting to book tickets for a performance at the Ernst Barlach Theatre. In the Güstrow cathedral of St. Mary there are figures of the apostles dating from the 16th Centuiry and the marble tomb of Duke Ulrich III.
