The region of Jenner, Hochschwarzeck is in Upper Bavaria in the Berchtesgaden Alps which is an excellent skiing area with many excellent hotels. There are 14 kilometers of ski runs in the Jenner, Hochschwarzeck arena with 11 lifts to serve both hotel guest and skiers alike. Should you book a hotel in Schönau on the Königssee you will be at the lower end of the Jennerbahn, a cable car with cabins that glides quickly up to the top station of the Jenner ski area at 1,800 meters. This skiing area is reckoned to be one of the most demanding of all the areas in the Berchtesgaden Alps. A real test of skill is the downhill run known as the “Spinnergraben”. Many visitors use the ski area of Hochschwarzeck as it has a toboggan run, children’s ski kindergarten and a ski school. Unforgettable panoramas over the Watzmann and the Königsee will remain in your memory for many years.
Ramsau has hotels in all price caetgories and nearby it is worth visiting the church of St. Sebastian situated in a superbly picturesque site which has certainly travelled the world on thousands of postcards. Those staying in the region of Jenner, Hochschwarzeck also like to take a walk to Hintersee. The area also has well known historical connections as Adolf Hitelr had his house, the „Berghof“, on the Obersalzberg which can now be visited together with a Documentation Centre for those seeking more information. There is also a luxury hotel on the Obersalzberg.
