From the Hotel Machiavelli Palace, located in the heart of the town, a few steps away from the train station of Santa Maria Novella and from the “Fortezza da Basso” (exhibition and congress centre), you can reach on foot in a few minutes all the main monuments and museums.The hotel has 90 elegant and comfortable rooms, furnished in Florentine style, all equipped with private bathroom, hairdryer, mini bar, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, air conditioning and safe. Moreover, you can enjoy an incomparable view on the rooftops of Florence from the terrace on the third floor where you can relax having a drink or take the sun in the summer.On one side of the church “San Jacopo in Campo Corbolini” (founded in 1206 and from 1256 on in possession of the Templar knights) was added in 1700 a small nunnery: exactly where the Hotel Machiavelli Palace is now located! Two noble Florentine families, Bartolini and Salimbelli, bought the nunnery and transformed it into a palace.The hotel, completely restored in 1999, still communicates the typical atmosphere of the old Florence which has remained unchanged the lines and finishing examples of the Florentine style of that period, such as the frescos, the coffered ceilings, the ornaments in “pietra serena” and so on.
