Guest evaluation of Hotel Jardin de l'Odeon

guest rating:   (9,8 of 10)

I posted a review on Tripadvisor and the title is "a real charmer." This hotel is a delight - friendly service, great location, chic decor. I would definitely recommend to others.

Construction on the building across the street - noise if you wish to rest during the day and your room faces rue Casimir Delavigne. But who stays in their room while in Paris?

Great location for museums, cafes, metro, shopping, etc. Large bathroom. Windows that open to the street. Free wi-fi and newspapers.

Sparse amenities, small room, minimal blanket for winter, minimal toiletries, pay computer in lobby, poor heat control, over-priced and minimal breakfast, poorly trained night clerk, hard bed, small TV.

Close to the Latin Quarter and St. Germaine without being in the middle of all the noise. Great location. Mostly pleasant and helpful staff, however, after midnight the desk guy was having a Skye conversation that he had on speaker and it overflowed into the sitting area where the guest computer was located. Really wasn't very professional. The rest of the staff seemed very hardworking and mature.

No bidet in the bathroom???? The site said computers in the room....Not every room apparently. Room much smaller than expected, but sizable compared to other places I've stayed in Paris. The breakfast was very overpriced for the quality and selection. No coffee making equipment in the room and the mini bar was hot inside. As with most accomodations in Paris it's difficult to understand the logic that goes into the placement of electrical outlets. The hair dryers are horrible outdated things that blow a breeze at your hair, but not much more even though the nozzle you hold onto (that never stretches far enough for you to see into the mirror) will hot enough to burn a blister on your hand. I brought my own dryer, but of course, no place to plug it in the bathroom and the mirror in the bedroom was just out of reach of the outlet. Who designs these things, bald guys?

Very nice hotel! I had a Superior-Room (very large vor Paris) with a balcony.

Few choices for breakfast, but quality is ok!

Internet access in the lobby very expensive (17 Euros per hour !)

Very friendly and accommodating staff! Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure although the half shower door does allow for too much water to splash out.

The television could use updating with better channel choices and some English speaking channels. The only trash can in the room is in the bathroom and is about the size of a 1 liter water bottle.
