The three-star-Hotel Waldgasthof Café Altersbach is located by the wild yet romantic Altersbachtal valley close to Waldkirch at the Black Forest panorama route at the beginning of the alpine, curvaceous Kandelpass route in Southern Black Forest nature park. The city of Freiburg is about 20 km away.
The hotel's restaurant is popular for ist excellent cuisine offering various trout and game dishes as well as Black Forest and Badenese specialities. The restaurant is especially famous for its tasty Black Forest Gateau. Badenese and Black Forest delicacies are accommpanied by local wines, beers and brandies. We also prepare vegetarian and wholefood dishes.
The local Kandel mountain with an altitude of 1243 m invites you to go skiing and sledding during wintertime. In the summer, it is a paradise for hang- or paragliding. We can arrange tandem flights for you. People fond of walking or hiking will appreciate the numerous hiking trails in the hotel's immediate surroundings like the Kandelhöhenweg trail. Behind the hotel, there is also a little waterfall.
