Hotel van Walsum is located at a green lane in a quiet neighbourhood and yet very near the centre of the city. The hotel can be reached easily by public transport and by car.

It is an old-fashioned Hotel - and that is comforting too - as everything was clean and functioning - other than the Do Not Disturb sign on the door! That is modern and electronic and didn't seem to work !

best price-performance ratio I found in the Netherlands; REALLY friendly staff
nothing too serious: single room was small, a bit too much audible from the neighbouring room (how would things have been if the hotel had been fully booked...?)

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel location was within easy walking distance of the town centre
The room was very old fashioned, basic and not very appealing. The bedding had been cleaned but was stained in a couple of places. I would have expected the rate of the room to be much less.

I found the staff to be extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for them, this was my first stay in Rotterdam and the staff at Hotel Van Walsum were great ambassadors, which made my stay there a very pleasant experience.
