Hotel Steens is a non-smoker hotel!

Our bed and breakfast hotel is located in the metropolis of Hamburg, a famous seaport, congress and trade fair city. The hotel is set in a quiet one-way road, close to the River Alster.

One of our main features is the familial atmosphere. Steens Hotel is a traditional, beautiful hotel with an elegant facade.

All our hotel rooms were renovated 2010-2011 and are modern and very comfortable we have ecol. sound insulating windows (January 2012). They are bright, cosy and equipped with shower, toilet, cable TV, radio, direct dial phone, trousers press, hair-dryer and mini-bar. Special health mattresses with an adjustable foot and headrest ensure a recreative and good sleep.

In our hotel you can start a new day with a sumptuous breakfast buffet. You can leave your car in the underground parking lot 50 m away from the hotel (extra charges apply).

Children from 0 to 3 years may be accommodated free of charge, for children from 3 to 7 years a small fee is charged. Extra beds are available for a fee (all prices including breakfast).

Not bad all-round
 
The guy in the reception the first day wasn't nice at all, had very bad english, and left me without internet because he was convinced I couldn't get a receipt for it.

Very central, ideal for runners. 1 minute from the Außenalster, the large Inner City Lake in Hamburg. One lap is 7.5k, you don't need a map, just follow the other runners
 
Even in the non-smoking rooms you can still smell the smoke of past decades.

Lovely people, great breakfast, clean, bright room, excellent location for my purpose.
 
No elevator but I'm sure I would have known that had I paid attention. A little struggle to get heavy bag up to 2nd floor.

Very clean, quiet and reasonably sized room. Very good value for money for such a centrally located hotel. Pleasant staff.
 
Breakfast rather basic; we would have liked some cereal.

We had a very enjoyable stay helped by wonderful weather and the helpfulness of the staff, especially the lady who manned the desk and served breakfast in the morning

The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful
 
There was no mini bar or iron (as described), though I'm sure they would have provided the iron if we had asked.
