I was very satisfied with this hotel. There is, however, no lift, and the non-smoking rooms are on the second floor (i.e. 3rd floor).

Very friendly staff; helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Hotel is very conveniently located. Room was quaint, and very clean. I'd certainly return if given the opportunity! Absolutely nothing negative to say.

October 2009
The hotel is tucked away on a small business street a five minute walk from the actual center of the old part of town, and walking into the center was easy. Our room was large and airy, on an interior court; the bathroom was large and pleasant to use. There was a mini-bar in the room with a good selection of items at reasonable prices. Our bed was comfortable, and I liked it that there were small reading lamps on each side of it. The additional seating in the room was good to have on the night we relaxed in the room with a bottle of Federweisser. Just down the street toward the center is the Ratstieubel, which has a very good restaurant. I particularly enjoyed the roast duck. It also is a good spot to go and enjoy a glass of wine. The hotel's breakfast room was pleasant, with a seating area just off it in a sunroom that held three tables. The breakfast selection was good, with a variety of fresh breads and meats, jams, and a hot tray with eggs and sausages. The cold items were on a tray that was refrigerated, so they stayed cool and fresh. Coffee was tasty and plentiful, brought to the table by a helpful and solicitous serveuse. There is also a small lounge area just off the reception. We were very pleased with our stay.

No lift, and you have to get your bags up a flight of stairs to reach the reception. (But once arrived a very helpful staff will schlepp them.)

I found the staff and owner to be very welcoming, pleasant and efficient and the breakfast was excellent, as was the ambience of the Breakfast Room itself.

I found that external noises (eg night traffic) were more noticeable than I would have expected, which somewhat marred an otherwise highly-enjoyable stay.
