Since 1908 Hotel- Restaurant "Zum Schwarzen Bären" (Black Bear Inn) is owned by the Pritz Family.
300 years ago, in 1609, the house was named "Whärzhaus zum Schwarzen Bären". Even today the arched ceiling of the guestroom is a visible reminder of former times when the room was used as stalls for the horses which pulled the ships up-river.
This treasured country guest house at the entry to the Wachau Valley, has become quite famous, particularly for its excellent food.
Here in Emmersdorf there is always a focus on down-to-earth regional specialities. Today guests come from near and far to induldge in culinary delights. Even though Chef Martin Pritz puts family tradition first, he continually makes excursions into the world of newer, lighter and more creative cooking.
For our seminar and business guests, we offer 5 professionally equipped seminar and meeting rooms.
