The Residenz Begaswinkel enjoys a peaceful setting in one of Berlin’s 3 private streets. This lovingly restored late-classical residence awaits you only a short walk from the Tiergarten, Potsdamer Platz, the Brandenburg Gate and the Kurfürstendamm where the world-famous KaDeWe department store can be found.
All rooms and suites have a lovely view of the small Begaswinkel with its city villas, or of the planted inner courtyard. The listed building comprises rooms with various layouts. The late-classical interiors and furnishings combine with a careful attention to detail. Very good atmosphere, very good breakfast. Street-walkers' patch around the corner for those who need personal services :-> But you will not book the hotel for only one hour ;-)
Lots of wood, lovely interior; you wouldn't expect a hotel like this in such an area!

Very friendly!
I don't like the typical biz hotel ala Holliday Expres et al. This one was a very nice, individual hotel.
Location not the best > public transport is in walking distance, but not really 'near'. Attraction that are listed as 'in walking distance' are not really unless one is a big walker.
Prostitutes on street at night very close by. Did not bother me, but might bother others.

Really was a lovely place to stay. The staff was pleasant and friendly and the breakfast on the rooftop terrace was lovely. The room was large with high ceilings and we enjoyed our terrace.
The street was very attractive but was a place where prostitutes brought their clients because it is secluded and quiet. So late at night you had to deal with sexual transactions going on in automobiles as you returned to the hotel. Also we had a great room facing the front with a patio that we used. The only drawback was that across the street there was a business that had a bright light shining all night long and the curtains in the room were light so the room was very bright at night. I think the light was there though because of the problem with the ladies of the night.
