Hotel description Hotel Lyskirchen

The Hotel Lyskirchen, a business establishment steeped in tradition, is set in the heart of Cologne’s Old Town, within walking distance to the centre, the cathedral and the Rhine promenade. Completely renovated in 2006, this four-star hotel has been named after the adjacent church St. Maria Lyskirchen and is proud to present its elegant, modern style.

All 106 air-conditioned rooms are equipped with shower, hair-dryer, cable TV, high speed internet access, desk, telephone and mini bar. Our superior single and double rooms are additionally arranged with bathroom with toiletries, bathrobe, trouser press, heating, safe, radio, wake-up service as well as satellite and pay TV.

Savour our large breakfast buffet in the Pratolino restaurant for a good start to a successful day.

The use of the swimming pool, the sauna and the fitness room is included in the room price.

 

 

 

Further information on the hotel
The prices are quoted per night and room and include service and the currently valid value added tax. Since January 1st, 2013 authorities of Cologne charge an additional “Kulturförderabgabe” (city tax) on top of the gross room rate. This charge is 5 % of the gross room rate plus V.A.T. and is included in the above mentioned rates. Business travellers do not have to pay this tax if the journey is based solely on business purposes. In case of presenting an employers certificate not later than check out, the tax will not be charged.

Very polite and competent staff
 
Twice problems with the internet (login via room number did not work, and the second time the server was unavailable, which made internet not accessible for several hours (morning of 20-10-2011 ), was eventually solved by staff both times.

Staff were very friendly. The room was well laid out and clean. It was convenient for the old town.
 
The hotel was very warm and the window too small to make much difference. But turning down the heating did have some effect.

Excellent condition. Looks like it's just been refurbished to a very high standard.
 
Shower had poor water pressure and it was very difficult to adjust the temperature.
