The family-run three-star Hotel L'Auberge is situated in Walldorf, in the sunny Rhine plain, near Heidelberg, Mannheim, Speyer and Hockenheim. Our guests will not only find a wonderful and lovely harbourage but also woods and a Waldschwimmbad (swimming pool in open countryside) right within the natural surroundings.
The modernly equipped guest rooms and apartments are also suitable for longer stays. They feature bathtub or shower, WC, TV, telephone and mini-bar. We are a non-smoking hotel. Apart from a cosy breakfast room, the hotel offers a room with chimney and a terrace with pavilion.

Lovely staff, very friendly. 25 minute walk from SAP offices if you fancy a walk in the morning / evening. Shuttle bus in the morning's 8, 8.30, 9 and back at 5.15 if you don't.
I had a basement apartment in 1 of the 3 buildings, there may be better accomodation in other buildings.

Very calm, quiet, apartment style room. Great free cable internet. Breakfast room is wonderful and also has outside seating.
Minor issue: I expected to find soap/shampoo in bathroom for first few nights, but none provided.
Breakfast: It would have been nice to find low fat milk, and non-sugared low fat yoghurt cups. :-)

The house is nicely decorated with interesting architecture. The modifications are nicely done - bright,comfortable dining area for example.
The shower was very basic - small, water sprayed onto the floor at the sink and WC. The shower head was difficult to adjust and broke on the 3rd day (but it was repaired the same day.) There was no hair dryer in the room.

On arrival, the door was locked and there wasn't any one in reception - just a tel. no to phone. The door was then opened remotely, key and room number were on the pult, but there was no writen or verbal description of where the room was or about the breakfast proceedure. In the bathroom, the sink is rather small and too low and there is not much space to put things (there is a metal stand that is totally inadequate). There wasn't any bathmat provided at all, despite the floor being tiled (cold). The mini bar had beer, coke and mineral water - not catering to very many tastes. Breakfast was limited: cereals, bread rols, cheese and cold meats. Considering the daily rate, more effort in the catering and surface useage area in the bathroom is a minimum expectation.

Clean generously-sized rooms/apartments, friendly helpful staff. There is a good choice of continental breakfast in the main building. It is more of an apart-hotel or boarding-house than a regular hotel. eg. The rooms have a small, equipped kitchen and dining area and there are several apartment blocks in the same residential area which are used for the hotel accomodation, but you walk down the road to the main building for breakfast and reception. I would imagine it would be ideal for a long term stay whilst working locally. Ample free parking.
Some attention to detail needed in the room - eg. kitchen cupboards need handles (!), shower needs a soap dish, need a room number on the door (!), maybe some colour/pictures on the wall to make it more homely. The same key opens all the doors in your apartment block (outside, lobby and room).
