Hotel Juan de la Cosa enjoys a wonderful location, only a few steps away from the extensive sand beach Berrias. The centre of Santoña is only 3 km away. Santona is a typical fishing village, which is some kilometres away from Santander and 30 minutes away from the airport. Laredo and Castro Urdiales are other typical villages in the surroundings.

The rooms and the fully-equipped bathrooms with a hair-dryer are very well-tended. The amenities include Sat TV, air-conditioning, radio, telephone and room service. Some of the rooms are especially suitable for families.

The restaurant is very popular among the local inhabitants. The dishes and wines have a very good image. The hotel is a big, contemporary designed quadratic building with a big entrance. There is a big green area behind the hotel which takes you to the beach.

"Acceptable price-performance level for dinner. Very rich breakfast."
"In the summer, sometimes very full with English tour groups (age> 60 years). Staff then very much involved there, and little attention to individuals. In winter not recommended because buildings are not properly heated."

"We took bad impression. The hotel is little careful. The beds do not only stretch the top sheet and blanket. Poor cleaning in the bathroom and did not replenish body wash, but only when said reception. Low light in room. Very little light in the bathroom. Noises. Mal the breakfast waiter. You can not have four stars. I did not know it was hotel-apartment."
