From Zurich Airport exit on to the A1 and continue until you take the exit St Gallen-Zentrum-Kreuzbleiche and follow the signs Zentrum in the tunnel. After the tunnel take first the middle track after the bends change to the left track Bahnhof towards the train station. Turn left after the railway bridg. Stay on the street until the second traffic light. Turn right and follow the signs Altstten-Appenzell-St Georgen. Turn left at the next crossing and follow the yellow hotel signs Hotel Dom. You may park your car in front of the hotel or in the hotel yard. Take the train to St Gallen Mainstation. Cross the bus station and the square Bahnhofplatz. Walk straight on until you see the building of the tourist office at the right. Turn left and follow the St Leonhardstrasse. After 100 meters you will see a great fountain the Broderbrunnen on a triangular square on the right side of the street. Hotel Dom is centrally yet quietly located in the heart of the old town of St. Gallen. Only a few footsteps away are the Abbey District with the Cathedral and the Abbey Library which became a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage in 1983. The traffic free shopping area starts just outside the hotel offering an exclusive range of shops in a unique historical ambiance. A limited number of parking spaces are available just in front of and behind the hotel. They are free and cannot be reserved. For guests arriving by train the walk from St. Gallen main station takes only a few minutes. The Hotel Dom offers 31 rooms with bathroom and shower. The rooms provide telephone; radio; TV and WLAN free of charge. Wheelchair accessible rooms and non-smoking rooms are available. Our breakfast buffet provides a rich variety of fresh products from the area some of them are organically grown. The restaurant opening times are from Mon-Fri from 6.30am to 5pm; Sat from 7am to 5pm and Sun from 7am to 3pm. Guests can also buy drinks from the maxi bar. The in house textile department takes care of your clothes. An Internet terminal at the reception completes the array of services we offer to our guests. A collection of art brut and naive art contributes considerably to the special ambiance of the house. Hotel Dom displays approximately 90 original paintings and sculptures. They are made by self educated people many of them from the margins of society or from disabled people. The Hotel is a pioneer project to integrate people with minor disabilities into the working process. The philosophy behind the project is to create a work environment where the employees can develop their individual talents and increase their independence and self awareness. Additional Information; Children age 12 and under stay free in the room of parents. The hotel reserves the right without prior notification to cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.

This is a reasonably price hotel for the lovely city it is centrally based in. What you get is basic, but adequate. No luxury, but everything you need for a short stay. Staff v. helpful, breakfast good, but again not overboard
