Welcome to the hotel Altora, your well-being hotel in the harz mountains.
Our hotel opened in August 2008 after a refurbishment and offer now 31 non-smoking rooms. Some rooms with view to the nostalgic brocken steamrailway.
In our restaurant 1835 we serve light and creative food from the traditional southern German kitchen. From here you have a terrific view to the trains of the nostalgic steamrailway from the harz moutains.
For groups up to 15 persons we have a separate room with fireplace and for smokers we offer a smoking and whiskey lounge.

Warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff acommodating and efficient without being intrusive.Relaxing decoration and lighting. Well positioned for town facilities and HSB Railway. Food has local Harz style, freshly and quickly cooked to order and generous portions-flavoursome, excellent use of herbs.

Completely happy: everything was as described, staff were friendly and the railway atmosphere truly exceptional. Standards of furnishing and cleanliness were excellent - what a pleasure to find hotel furniture made of real wood!
