Location
Grey Street Hotel is situated on Grey Street, named as one of the worlds most beautiful streets. Graceful Georgian architecture arcs from the hotel at the botton of Grey Street, to the magnificent Theatre Royal at the top. Whilst Newcastle has enjoyed a cultural revolution, this part of the city is the true heart for attractions, dining and entertainment. Literally within a 500 metre circumference of the hotel you will reach some of Newcastles finest attractions like the Theatre Royal, Baltic Centre, Opera House, The Sage Gateshead, Millennium Bridge, Laing Gallery, rail and Metro links, Eldon Square Shopping Centre. Whilst going a little further out, you will find Newcastle Racecourse, Newcastle United Football Club, Hancock Museum, Gateshead International Stadium, Metro Shopping Centre, Angel of the North, Beamish Open Air Museum, Hadrians Wall, Segedunum, Saltwell Park. What most people visiting the North East often forget, is how beautiful the coast is and during your visit our recommendation is to fit this in as it is a short ride on the Metro or busNewcastle Intl Airport NCL 6.5 mi west

Restaurant

  • Restaurants: The Living Room is the hotels restaurant and offers contemporary surroundings emulsified with a cool and casual dining experience. The Living Room is one of the UKs most successful restaurant concepts. Hotel guests can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner, and room service meals are also provided in an exclusive arrangement. Floritas is a deluxe open-plan bar, with retro chintz style, less than 100 metres from the hotel. Bar Luga is as plush as they come, a champagne and caviar bar, and one of the places to be seen in. Less than 50 metres from the hotel. Split over two levels, the decor is warm and autumnal with plenty of seating inside, and outside seating for the summer.

November 2012
Lovely comfortable and clean room with comfortable beds.

Our room must have been above the air conditioning, although this was not too noisy to affect sleeping, it did mean we had a very noisy bathroom with vibrating fittings.

December 2009
Room was clean, staff were friendly.

Room 37; was cramped, shower only no bath, no desk and was accessed off the main stairwell, not located in corridors with secondary ddor access to reduce noise. Sun am 3-5am drunken revellers running up and down central staircase, shouting. Staff did nothing to address this. Left room at 7.00am to find take away food scattered all over 2nd floor landing. Great location, friendly staff but they did nothing to address the problem of drunken guests, avoid room 37 at all costs, its a noisy cupboard.
