The municipal spa “Keidel-Mineral-Thermalbad” ist connected with the hotel. It is the perfect place for relaxation or becoming active. Tickets are available at reception. We offer preferential prices for our hotel guests. The use of our 1.200 m2 Medical Fitness Resort ist free of charge.

Unbelievably friendly and helpful staff. On Christmas day I was feeling a bit under the weather so I stayed in and ordered room service..they wheeled in a sandwich on a white table clothed tray with a merry christmas decoration and a candle. Did I mention the waiter was genuinely smiling and wishing me well? They sent around Christmas plates with chocolates, gingerbread and fruit to every room in the place. They also had a welcome plate of food. We also had daily access to the spa a few buildings away (through hotel underground access). These hot springs were amazing (especially at night). It's great walking through their underground entrance in your complimentary (for the week) towel gown and slippers. THe hotel provides daily shuttles into the city free of charge, which is good. The dinners were all excellent with several courses. They were also very careful with guests with special dietary needs. I cannot recommend this place enough!
 
The only negative is it's location... Yes the black forest is fantatic, but the hotel is in the wellness district which has a recovery centre linked into the hotel next door and a hospital around the corner. This is a very minor negative in the scheme of things however.

We checked out a day early because the room was inappropriate. We had a second bed for our son, but this was placed next to the window so that it could not open properly. Even with furniture rearrangement, the room was unbearably hot (no air conditioning). We arrived at 3.45pm, but teh room was not available; we were not informed about how to use the public "wellness" facilities (not owned by hotel); we were not given 3 sets of towels and then when new ones arrived they were all hand towels (my husband and son wanted to go swimming)- we had to ask several times for towels; the staff, although friendly, never seemed to know what they were doing!
