The service was brilliant, the room clean, comfortable and pretty, it even had the rare commodity of a hair dryer in the room! Overall, the quality/price ratio was possibly the best I found in Internet special offers.

The room I had was directly under the roof, which I found very nice up to the shower: I'm 1.73, but even I couldn't stand comfortably in it! They should tell the guests in advance, so that a suitable arrangement/alternative can be found as soon as possible. Not much of a bother for a guy like me and a single night (besides, before I tried the shower on the morning I left, I hadn't realised how cramped the shower space actually was), but it might become a major annoyance in other circumstances.

I was given a room on the 4th floor - the lift only goes to the 3rd floor - requiring guests to climb fifteen steps. Fine while staying there but not so good when arriving and leaving with heavy suitcases.

Huge TV.

Drain stopper in the sink didn't go up and down. 2 of the 4 reception staff I spoke with were just plain rude. No smile, wouldn't look up from the desk, appeared put out to answer a question about getting around in Cologne.

The location of the hotel is excellent for a short stay in Cologne, as it is so central. the staff were competent and friendly. A good 3 star hotel, and good value for money.

There is little noise from other rooms, but because the corridors are not carepeted, there can be a lot of noise, particularly when guests arrive late at night. Have only stayed there in the winter, and suspect that the hotel could be very warm in the summer and that guests could be affected by street noise if the needed to keep windows open in warm weather.

Overnight noise in the courtyard right outside the bedrooms was completely unacceptable. For three nights people slept in tents waiting to buy tickets for various entertainments in the city. They struck their tents at 4am on Saturday morning, and the noise was horrendous. Soundproofing was good, but with the windows shut the rooms became unbearably stuffy. The air conditioning did not operate. The staff were very pleasant and sympathetic, but I would not return.

Window open, horrendous noise from outside. Window closed, hot and stuffy. It is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The most miserable week of the year in my job as a golf reporters.

The general staff were pleasant and helpful.

The rooms were unsatisfactory and in need of an urgent upgrade. The cost was enormous for a hotel of this poor standard.

Great location. Nice people and really helpful.

There was no air condiotining and it was really warm in Köln these days... It was too expensive for the services and quality offered, with a 30% discount from what I paid, it would more accurate.
