Hotel description Brooks Hotel

Business hours of reception: from 07:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Our independent two-star Herald House Hotel is set almost in the heart of Edinburgh and offers accommodation at reasonable prices close to the city centre. The Edinburgh Castle, the Princess Street and the Kings Theatre are a comfortable 15-minute walk away, while the Haymarket Station is reachable within 2 minutes on foot.

The 46 rooms are well-appointed with a small private bathroom, telephone and internet access.

As the surrounding area is stuffed with restaurants, the hotel only offers a breakfast room. In the small lounge area we serve drinks and snacks from 05:00 p.m. onwards.

Fantastic location, great value, friendly staff. A lot of ongoing refurbishment so it can only get better. We will be back!

Nice people, very helpful. Price was fair and breakfast was very good.

The hotel needs to be "spruced up".

Excellent price/quality factor.

Got an icy room, certainly due to a last minute swap This was however a single case.

Quite a central location.

Rooms were dirty and smell a bit musty.

Hotel is very close to Haymarket Railway Station (not evident from description - assume that's for Waverley)

Window latches broken

Very good value indeed for the centre of Edinburgh. Large, clean, room. Excellent DIY breakfast (including cooked food).

The hotel is currently next to a large building site where work starts at 7.30-8am, and this looks like continuing for some months yet. This is fine if you're on that side of the hotel and on business during the week, but might not be appreciated by visiting tourists!
