On 11/11/11 another gem was unveiled to grace the already exclusive and impressive line of Dallas hotels. Owned by the city of Dallas, the Omni Dallas Hotel opened 2 years after the groundbreaking and was completed two months ahead of schedule and under budget. The hotel has 1,001 rooms, 65 of which are luxury suites and three presidential suites.
The hotel is annexed to the 2.1 million square foot convention center which can be accessed via a skybridge connecting both imposing structures. The city expects the luxurious hotel to become the place of choice for conference-goers. And it is indeed on its way to reaching that goal. The hotel’s press release states that almost 300,000 room nights have already been contracted.
The building has also received silver LEED certification. In order to achieve this, the hotel had to pass strict environmental standards and now features utilization of recycled materials, irrigation supplied by recycled water, water-saving fixtures, guest room energy management systems and more.
With 1,001 rooms, the Omni Dallas hotel becomes the fourth largest hotel in Dallas. It also features 2 restaurants, a sports bar and a café and the rooftop terrace pool deck is already set to be one of the highlights with its magnificent views of the city.
The opening ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was led by two of the original cast of the popular TV series, Dallas, was just the beginning of a bright future for hotel guests around the world who decide to visit the ever growing „Big D“.
