Daniel Peaslee

Daniel Peaslee Meet the TeamDaniel Peaslee hails from the sandy shores of Long Island, New York where during summers as a child he regularly attended the beach at dusk to avoid paying entrance fees.

It is experiences like this coupled with an innate drive to find the best deals whether at the flea market, a hotel, or your  local greasy spoon he has learned to stretch the value of whatever local currency to attain maximum return on investment.  Areas of travel interest include but are not limited to the five continents and seven seas.

When not writing for the blog he enjoys rooting on his beloved New York Mets to a first/last/anywhere in between finish in the standings, arguing the advantages and disadvantages of monarchism in modern society, taking creative license with recipes in his not- so- secret kitchen laboratory, and stalling on the last chapter of his latest read to prolong satisfaction.

He shares a birthday with Ben Affleck, Julia Child, and Napoleon in no particular order.

Rodney Perez

blog profile pic 1 Meet the TeamRodney is a former language teacher and former part-time musician who has lived in three different countries for at least five years in less than three decades.

Having spent a big part of his youth surrounded by mountains in the city of Caracas, he developed a special bond with Mother Nature. However, the usual hustle and bustle of city life was ever present and that is why concrete, skyscrapers and big city chaos will always sound like music to his ears.

Lonely beaches, particularly at dawn or right before the sun sets also hold a special place in his heart and, if you add the mountains to the landscape, the whole big-city nonsense will be easily forgotten… for a week or two, that is.

Besides writing for the hotel.info blog, Rodney is the proud father of a beautiful Fender Jazzmaster, roots for the New York Mets and his beloved Leones del Caracas from the Venezuelan Winter Baseball League and dreams of having his own movie theater and music studio one day.

Memorable travel memories: canoeing down the Orinoco river at night.

Amélie Buerkl

Amelie Meet the TeamGreetings! My name is Amelie and I have been working at hotel.de since 2005. I travel regularly through Allgau in Bavaria and southern France, due to the fact that I have family in the region. To date my dream vacation destination the island le Reunion in the Indian Ocean. Perrine Labaune

Perrine Labaune Meet the TeamExploring beautiful and unusual corners, learning about other cultures, travelling in general: that´s a philosophy, which I agree with! As soon as I came into the world I was travelling.

Admittedly, this was a small trip not far away from home, however that was the first and seemingly successful attempt on the part of my parents to pass their love of travel onto me. Since then I haven´t gone a year without traveling at least twice somewhere in the world.

In my country, I´ve become extremely familiar with the French roads, scenery, and lanscapes which hold no further mysteries for me. For this reason I decided to emigrate to Germany. My travel destinations have also changed over time. What interests me presently is contact with other cultures, such as those found in Africa, which hold quite distinct differences from the culture of my upbringing.

It is thanks to travel in such places as Morocco and Senegal that my musical, literary, and historical knowledge have greatly expanded, enriching me with every step along the way!

Axel Roth

Roth axel Meet the TeamAxel was the first born child of a middle-class family from Fürth, Germany.

Axel’s passion for traveling started at a very young age thanks to the countless excursions, hiking vacations and city trips he and his family made to the German, Austrian and Swiss Alps.

That experience opened his eyes to the beauty and sacredness of nature as well as it introduced his taste buds to the variety of German and European culinary delicacies; features that still motivate him today, as much as they did in the past, to continue traveling and discovering new territories.

After spending three years studying abroad -which allowed him to become more and more interested in the world of traveling, sports and culture- he came back to his native Germany wanting to apply all the knowledge and experience he gained in order to reform the German hotel industry. His dreams and ideals, however, did not come true and he therefore decided to pursue professional horizons aloof from actively working in the hotel industry.

Axel has been part of the hotel.de/hotel.info team since 2006 and has been a blog editor since 2010 and would now like to share all of his valuable and rich experience with all his readers.

Philippe Lotz

Philippe Lotz Meet the TeamHello, my name is Philippe, my passions include traveling, capturing unforgettable travel moments with my trusty camera, and of course recording these experiences with paper, pen, or keyboard.

Professionally, I have travelled to many Mediterranean countries and had the unique opportunity of viewing the cultures and learning the local traditions in such places as Spain, Egypt, Tunisia, and Turkey over an extended period of time. I also like to explore new “terrain”, however am not a very big fan of all-inclusive vacations, rather I enjoy the thrill of doing it on one´s own.

I believe beautiful locations are not necessarily in far away lands, but can be found right at your doorstep.

Svenja Trzcinski

Svenja Meet the TeamMy name is Svenja and I’m an intern at hotel.de. Once my internship comes to an end, I’ll continue my studies in Trier where I’ll major in Geography (Travel and Tourism).

I am a very sociable person and my hobbies are horseback riding and reading Nordic crime stories. I also enjoy traveling, as you may imagine, and have already had the opportunity to visit beautiful places such as Australia, Indonesia, Panama, Costa Rica and some European countries. That list will surely and hopefully be expanding very soon.

Stefania Odoni

My name is Stefania and I come from the idyllic city of Città di Castello in Umbria, Italy.

I studied Foreign Languages and Literature both at the University of Perugia and at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen, Germany. My love for foreign languages is fueled by the wonderful feeling of being able to communicate with other peoples and getting to know their cultures.

There is no better way of doing that than traveling! And that I could do for the rest of my life if I had the chance.

Among my other hobbies are photography, singing, playing the saxophone and writing, writing and writing! Oh, and did I mention I love writing? Not many people can say they’re able to make a living doing what they like most and I am fortunate enough to be one of the few who can.

My life’s tenet: Justice, honesty and transparency can change the world.

Stefano

Stefano Di Lorito Meet the TeamI´ve been given the nickname “Globetrotter” by friends due to the fact that I am constantly on the move traveling and visiting friends wherever they may be in the world. I consider this a great passion of mine, to travel and organize elaborate vacations and road trips.

At the top of my list of favorite cities sits Stockholm, which I visit at least once a year. Other front-runners include the larger cities of Northern Europe. Besides travelling, I enjoy international music, languages, clubbing, European films, EU and international culture initiatives, and last but not least shopping.
