Guest evaluation of BEST WESTERN Victoria Palace
|
|
guest rating: (4,3 of 10) |
| on business travelling as an individual, 41-50 years; travel season:December 2010 |
I was given a room in one of the nearby houses. The room was about 6 square meters. The heating in the room could not be controlled, so that the temperature in the room was about +30 degrees C in spite of fully opened window (about +3 outside). |

| private travelling as a couple, 41-50 years; travel season:May 2010 |
Very close to Victoria station (5 mins walk)
Nice areas with a few good cafes/restos/pubs
Room 18 in the annex building looked like brand new

|
Sound proofing between the rooms could be better
If you do not like stairs ... the annex building has no elevator |

| private travelling with children, 31-40 years; travel season:April 2010 |
close to Victoria Station & Buckingham Palace (very central); neighbourhood all right: nice pubs, late night shopping @ Tesco´s (22:00) & @ Sainsbury´s (23:00) possible; hardly any traffic (quiet at night!); cost-free Internet for guests at reception; very kind and helpful personnel; en-suite bathrooms are new, modern & clean; flat-screen TV (incl. ca. 10-15 channels non-pay channels); daily cleaning of rooms

|
Size of room extremely small: ca. 12 square metres for a double bedroom... hardly enough space for the 2 single beds, let alone room for moving about or for storing 2 suitcases! No "view" as such: The window of our room lead to a 1x2 metres "yard" which gave us an impression of living in a "prison cell", while having an excellent "view" into the opposite hotel room so close by! Even though the neighbourhood as such was very quiet, one could hear every movement from guests on top floors as well as conversations of guests in neighbouring rooms! |

|

| private travelling as a couple, 41-50 years; travel season:December 2009 |
The rooms are small but, for a short stay, they are certainly fulfilling the needs. The hotel is situated nearby Chelsea & Hyde Park and Westminster. Price vs Quality = excellent. |
