* make sure that your room is NOT somewhere in the basement or top-roof.
* according to hotel info there supposed to be WLAN in the rooms, but was just available in the lobby which was very poor ... |

The room was quaint, and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was sufficient for what we needed.

|
The website was not clear about the fact that there are actually two hotels run by the same company on the same street. So although I was lead to believe I would receive a room in The Kensington Shaftesbury, I actually received a room across the street in the Kensington Townhouses. The hotel was fine, but it would just be nice to be more clear as to what I'm booking. |

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last few months and I still have to provide my home address when checking in! Also, mostly my room is in the basement, though lack of daylight is the only disadvantage. |

I liked having free wired internet access and the bathroom was well proportioned and had good quality, clean fittings that were not cracked or damaged in any way (as they are in many places!!).

|
the room I was in had no outside windows (being on the lower ground floor) and, although it was not excessively hot, the airconditioning did not seem to work. Also the gym, although reasonably well equiped, had halogen lamps arranged over some pieces of equipment, which made it very hot to "work out". Again the air conditioning would not go below 19 deg C, which is too warm for a gym!! |

Stayed there for almost 10 days. the hotel was recently renovated and it sported everything anyone would expect for an even more expensive hotel! It is perfectly situated close to the underground. The rooms are really great and definetely it is a plus to have complementary coffe/tea, morning newspaper and a basket of fruits. Not to mention, the free broadband services. Also, the bathroom was featuring a tv screen (!!) and it was new and very clean. Finally, the bed was very confortable. Overall it is a great - great deal, especially for this ammount of money.

if the rooms were a little bigger... (just slightly) |
