Great Staff and location but I felt £125 a bit expensive for York when you compare to a London hotel at that price. other than price a great hotel

Arriving on the busy John Smith Race Day we were unable to check in when we arrived just after noon. Our luggage was stored safely. Asked for confirmation of our room allocation for the four poster room to be told this had not been allocated to us after all. The room we did occupy was very nice so I would rather turn this into a positive comment and not a negative. Brilliant staff, backed up by the fact my expensive hair dryer was left in the room. One call and the Hotel sent it back to me at no extra charge. Excellent customer service

It was not made clear breakfast was included in the price of the room. Erred on the side of caution and did not go to breakfast
