Since its building in 1844, the hotel Baur au Lac and its 124 rooms have been modernised at regular intervals to meet the demands of the international clientele. Since July 2008, 25 of the guest rooms will be converted into 15 new suites and junior suites as well as 5 new double rooms. The Baur au Lac will continue to offer quiet rooms in the wing of the city area, and the 2 inner courtyards will also be quiet. The works will be completed by summer 2009 and all inconveniences will be kept to an absolute minimum.
