The three-star Hotel und Gasthaus zur Sonne is a house rich in tradition and located in a very central and quiet location.

The hotel offers you cosy little rooms in the heart of Weimar. The 21 rooms are all equipped with bath or shower, WC, cable TV, radio and telephone.

For family celebrations, meetings, seminars or just a wonderful evening there is our winter garden with its nice ambience.

Our chef will spoil you with original Thuringian cuisine as well as fresh fish and seasonal specialities. On sunny days you can enjoy the view of the Jakobskirche church, an old sight of Weimar, from our terrace.

The hotel was very nice and clean. There is a really good and fairly inexpensive restaurant at the hotel. The hotel was just around the corner of the city center. I was traveling by myself and do not speak German and the staff members that spoke some English were very nice, patient, and accommodating. It was a nice weekend getaway.

The only negative about the hotel (which really wasn't all that bad) was that the pigeons outside my window kept waking me up. But really not a big deal and it's not like anything could be done about the birds. I would say that if you only speak English it can be difficult and frustrating getting around Weimar.

Very convenient and quiet location. Good choice at breakfast. Spacious room and good facilities. Difficult to find initially by car. Map not very helpful. Would have liked more pictures of hotel in description.
