The16th
century Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, a Renaissance style building, is located right
in the Old Town
of the famous wine city of Volkach.
It is surrounded by the best vineyards
of Franconia and offers a multitude of bike
and hiking trails right on your doorstep and almost pristine nature along the
banks of River Main. Bike enthusiasts will find many challenges here. Plain
areas along the river banks and steep trails leading through the wine growing
area. Hikers can enjoy fantastic views and natural wonders of rare existence.
Motorbike fans may appreciate winding roads leading through the woods.
Many golf
courses in proximity, numerous inns that invite for a break and a trip on the
ferry across the river make a vacation in this region a memorable, enjoyable
experience. You may go for a boat or canoe trip on the Main River, visit outlet stores run
by the famous labels Minx, S. Oliver, René Lezard, Bugatti, Puma, Adidas.It is
almost a crime (against yourself) not to take advantage of the enormous number
of renowned wine growing estates along the Main, and join in for a wine
tasting.
The
cultural cities of Würzburg, Bamberg and Schweinfurt are only a 15
minutes drive away.
Our
historical three-star Renaissance Hotel (originally a medieval rural estate and
later on a Bavarian county court) offers 19 individually appointed, nostalgic
non-smoker rooms. There is also an attic suite with fantastic, historical oak
beams. At this hotel you will not find 2 rooms alike. All of them are carefully
equipped and furnished with antiques. Interior style ranges from Baroque
closets to Louis XVI four-poster beds and elegant Biedermeier tables.
A creative
cusine is served at our Sachs Restaurant. Dishes are predominantly prepared and
flavoured with fresh herbs from the hotel´s orchard along the Main banks or
with wild herbs grown in the vineyards. Even seafood is part of the menu.
Our wine
lounge is furnished with comfortable leather armchairs and an ideal venue to
enjoy a selection of Franconian or international wines perfectly complemented
by oysters and raw-milk-cheese. |
