Very good, basic Hotel in idyllic location.Very friendly staff. Noisy room because of a last minute wedding reception but the staff moved us without even us having to ask - nice touch. Smoking in reception area

(this is a family restaurant-hotel and not just hotel) = Friendly staff (family owned) = excellent and cheap restaurant (4 persons dinner for just EUR 69). = should be perfect for romantic trip (inside looks as at least 4 stars hotel - with marble stairs) = nice view from the window = No Internet = NO lift (we lived at the top floor and I'd fall and twisted my leg while was caring luggage), = not completely furnished bathroom (they just finished it) = on the top of the hill - forget about walking to the city because it is more than 5 km by a montain road = only reachable by car - nearest bus stop is approx 1 km walk

This is a very nice location above Trier. It was nice being up and out of the town of Trier which was excessively hot the day we visited. We booked a family room, which turned out to be a very nice 2-room apartment in a separate building. There was also a swing-set that my 7-year-old daughter enjoyed. The main building was very quaint and the dining room cute with a balcony with a lovely view at breakfast. My only criticism is that the lobby was excessively filled with cigarette smoke each time we passed through. Also, my children complained about the excessively small t.v. in the room. However, I would definitely stay here again.
