| Hotel Description: |
| Ettington Park is situated six miles south of Stratford upon Avon. It is a Victorian neo-gothic mansion, set in 40 acres of landscaped gardens and parkland, bordered by the River Stour. It was originally the home if the Shirley family and has been associated with them since the Doomsday Book. The house's rich and colourful history is written all over it - on the scores of friezes, stained glass windows and coats of arms that embellish its walls. All bedrooms and suits are individually furnished and decorated, many offering superb views of the Victorian gardens and surrounding countryside. This distinct character is complemented further by roaring log fires in the public areas. The many lounges include the Great Drawing Room and The Library, both of which are rich with antique furniture and fine paintings. The Award winning cuisine is enhanced by the Oak Room restaurant, dating back to 1740. The restaurant has been awarded 2 rosettes by the AA and serves superb food and wine in splendid surroundings. Our award-winning chefs use the finest suppliers and scour the small local farms for fresh produce to create food that is light and flavourful. The hotel is within easy reach of London and Birmingham, which is a 45 minute drive. Ettington Park is a tranquil haven for leisure breaks, conferences and weddings. A wide range of activities are available including a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and spa bath; all weather tennis courts and croquet. Beauty treatments, clay pigeon shooting and archery all available on request or you could fish the River Stour, which meanders through our grounds. Nearby, you'll discover some of the country's most beautiful gardens and villages, as well as fascinating historical sites such as Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and of course, Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon. |
